Asturias

Asturias is a land of contrasts, mountains and green meadows, woods and rivers of great beauty, the sea pounding against cliffs and fertile river basins. All these features make this region a natural provider of fish, sea-food, meat, vegetables, fruit and cheese (more than 40 varieties¡¡) all of excellent quality. The gastronomy of Asturias is one of the basic pillars of the tourist offer.

We can not forget the “Sidra” (Cider). The production of natural Sidra in Spain takes place mostly in Asturias. The climate here is ideal for apple growing; mild, wet summers and mild winters. You must drink the whole bottle at one sitting; Cider oxidizes quickly and becomes flat. A "gulp" or small amount of cider should be poured into a narrow glass from a height of around 30 cm or three feet. This ritual is called "Escanciar” (throwing the Cider); it produces the gas which aerates the cider, enhancing the bouquet and its natural carbonation.

Nature, in Asturias, has been an inseparable part of its history. Its particular borders, steep mountains and turbulent seas have conserved the customs, culture and legends of this old kingdom of spectacular beauty. This little paradise is classified into Biosphere Reserves, National Parks, Natural Parks, Natural Preserves, Protected Landscapes and Natural Monuments. The Natural Areas are complemented by white sandy beaches, remote Caves, beautiful Lakes, peaceful Reservoirs, crystalline Rivers, as well as the native Fauna and Flora.

Thanks to these resources, among others, this province is a perfect destination to host an incentive trip, meeting or convention. Asturias is an unspoiled destination in Spain, located in the north of our country and facing the Cantabrian sea, between Galicia and Cantabria. Its international airport is located 48 kms away from Oviedo (the capital of the province), 41 kms to Gijón and 15 kms to Aviles; 3 of the main cities of this amazing land. It counts with direct flights from Paris and London. Germany is connected to Asturias via Palma de Mallorca.

There is a great range of accommodations and meeting facilities for groups as well as many original activities for incentive groups, like cheese or chocolate tasting guided by awarded chefs with recognised prestige; or discovering the marvels of this land by touching or smelling or tasting but without seeing, etc. If you are looking for something different in Spain, let us know, we will introduce you Asturias.
